About the role

We’re seeking a Vice President of Accounting to lead our internal operations, drive client on-boarding, and support the success of our accounting managers. With four direct reports, this role requires both strategic oversight and hands-on engagement with client-facing work. The VP will serve as the connective tissue between leadership, clients, and our internal teams—ensuring our operations and people are aligned for success.

Requirements

  • Leadership & Management

    • Directly manage 4 accounting managers; mentor and develop them into high-performing team leads.

    • Be a strong “manager of managers,” setting a high bar for quality and accountability.

    • Support HR oversight and internal operational alignment.


  • Client On-boarding & Success

    • Own the client on-boarding process from kickoff to hand-off, ensuring a seamless experience.

    • Step in for client correspondence when needed, particularly during transitions or escalations.

    • Monitor and improve client setup systems to ensure long-term success and satisfaction.

    • Hold an extremely high bar for client interactions, communications and ultimately success.


  • Internal Operations & Accountability

    • Serve as the go-to for answering team questions, providing guidance on complex accounting/client matters.

    • Maintain oversight of team workflows, timelines, and deliverables. Ensuring all information is complete and accurate when delivered to clients. 

    • Balance coaching with accountability.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Experience managing managers or leading cross-functional teams.

  • Strong understanding of internal business operations in a service-based firm.

  • Proven track record of driving results while building people up.

  • Comfortable in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

  • CPA required.
